TUESDAY 9.17.19 FLORIDA / GEORGIA

The time came to pack up the travel trailer and call it a day here in sunny (hot and humid) Florida.  Its always difficult to say so long to people you like so much.

So until next time Larry & Brenda, thanks for a great time!  We'll be back again.

MONDAY 9.16.19 FLORIDA

Walt and I took a 45 minute drive to meet our friend Liz for lunch. (Larry and Brenda had no problem puppy sitting.) Liz is Walt's lifelong best friend's wife. Sadly, we lost "Duck" last year. It was wonderful to spend some time with this sweet lady.

We went to a waterside restaurant called Woody's River Roo. We all had a delicious lunch and a wonderful visit. The grounds were filled with big old oak trees covered in Spanish Moss.

When we returned to Brenda & Larry's the guys arrived! A very good friend of Walt's, Mike, with whom I've become good friends with and I just think the world of him! Soon after he arrived four of Walt's former co-workers arrived. He hadn't seen any of them in over 5 years! One of them was very special. He was the original owner of Boss! What a reunion that was! We are certain that Boss remembered him. Walt and the guys had a great time talking over old times. Larry, Walt and these guys all worked together. Except Mike, who was Walt's neighbor.  Did I think to get the camera out?  Nooooooo!

When everyone left we had a dinner of Taco Salad, a first for me and Walt. We liked it!  but of course we like anything and everything that Brenda makes.  Especially her chocolate chip cookies.  

The evening brought even more playtime for Larry and Boss.

We have no doubt that Larry is going to miss Boss!

 It was a good day, got to see some old friends, ate well and Boss had a great time!

FRIDAY 9.13.19 FLORIDA

Whew!  What a long day.  We put in 8 hours on the road today.  Actually, we put in nine because when we got to the Tampa area we discovered a time change and it was five not four!

We are staying in friends Larry and Brenda's side yard.  He hooked us up with electric and we will shower in the house.  Walt worked with Larry and they are good friends.  They kept in touch after Walt retired and moved away.  I've become friends with Larry now and its not usual for him to call me or me to call him just to chat and catch up.

Boss is being spoiled rotten already!  They love Boss and he has the run of the house and yard.

We are keeping watch on a tropical storm and can be ready to go in a half hour's time if we see its time to get out of Dodge, uh, um, I mean Tampa.

Since Brenda had to work today and we didn't get in until 5 it was just easier to send out for pizza.  I had been craving pizza so this made me a happy camper!  It was the first time I've had Papa John's pizza since '06.  This was my go to pizza shop when I lived in Delaware.  It was delicious!
