WEDNESDAY 9.18.19 FLORIDA / GEORGIA

Hello Georgia! It was a pretty easy run from Tampa to Savannah and I got some driving time in.

We are in a very nice campground outside of the tourist district. We are lovin' this Passport America organization we're in. Half price on every campground we've stayed in so far. This one is definitely a destination park. Its very well kept and seems to have the best of everything.

We are in Creek Fire RV Resort.

When I went in to get us registered I, of course, used my given name because of the credit card.  Everyone called me Miss Mary.  That southern charm gets me every time.  The office for the resort was absolutely beautiful both inside and out.

We met the people next to us and they are from New Jersey. Walt was trying to clean the dead love bugs off the trailer and they were trying to get them off also with a steamer when she said that Mr. Clean Magic Erasers would do the trick but that she was out of them. Off to Walmart we went and between in the two of us we cleaned out the shelves of Magic Erasers. They worked! Little dead carcasses just rolled right off. Soon she and her husband were also cleaning the dead carcasses off more easily.

Boss was just as happy as could be laying on the patio watching the world go by.

After dinner Walt filled in the states on our map.

Its really filling in.

In the evening we watched TV, cable of course, and planned our day for tomorrow.

TUESDAY 9.17.19 FLORIDA / GEORGIA

The time came to pack up the travel trailer and call it a day here in sunny (hot and humid) Florida.  Its always difficult to say so long to people you like so much.

So until next time Larry & Brenda, thanks for a great time!  We'll be back again.

SATURDAY 9.14.19 FLORIDA

It was hectic day today.  We had errands to run and Walt got a much needed haircut.  Every time we've come to Florida in the last three years, Walt goes to Michelle to get his haircut.  He went to her for almost 20 years when he lived in Florida and now holds off on a haircut if he knows Florida is in the near future.  She really likes Walt, so much so that she doesn't even charge him for his once a year haircut.

We had every intention of getting a golf game in today but when we walked outside we found it was extremely hot and humid.  So much so that when we walked out of air conditioning our glasses fogged.   Yep, it was that hot!

Since it was too hot for any outdoor activities, Brenda helped with a quilt I was working on.  This woman is so incredibly talented and creative when it comes to a sewing machine.  And cooking and baking!

We introduced these two to JRR hotdogs too.  They loved them!  With fresh sliced tomatoes on the side,,,hmmm, hmmm, good!   It was really too hot to eat but we had to have something!

We got some phone calls out of the way making plans to see other friends while here.

I think we are all ready for a cold snap to come through.

FRIDAY 9.13.19 FLORIDA

Whew!  What a long day.  We put in 8 hours on the road today.  Actually, we put in nine because when we got to the Tampa area we discovered a time change and it was five not four!

We are staying in friends Larry and Brenda's side yard.  He hooked us up with electric and we will shower in the house.  Walt worked with Larry and they are good friends.  They kept in touch after Walt retired and moved away.  I've become friends with Larry now and its not usual for him to call me or me to call him just to chat and catch up.

Boss is being spoiled rotten already!  They love Boss and he has the run of the house and yard.

We are keeping watch on a tropical storm and can be ready to go in a half hour's time if we see its time to get out of Dodge, uh, um, I mean Tampa.

Since Brenda had to work today and we didn't get in until 5 it was just easier to send out for pizza.  I had been craving pizza so this made me a happy camper!  It was the first time I've had Papa John's pizza since '06.  This was my go to pizza shop when I lived in Delaware.  It was delicious!
