UTAH - DAY 8 - 9.28.23
Today we moved to Moab to be closer to Arches and Canyonland National Parks.
I did call one campground to get a reservation and happily accepted a spot even though it had no hookups. We have a generator and solar on the roof so I knew we could do it.
It was an uneventful trip thankfully. It took us about 5 hours and the traffic was next to nothing most of the way.
Here are some going down the road pics.
Uh, no Walt. We're towing, we can't go 80 miles an hour.
As we got closer to Moab we saw a campground outside of town and decided to stop "just in case" it was a better deal than we already had. It wasn't. $45 for dry camping and $80 for just electric. No thanks!
Is Moab ever a busy town! Motel after motel, restaurant after restaurant. Jeep rentals, ATV rentals, tours of every kind.
So we arrive at our campground and we are shown to our space. A section of dirt. Luckily, we had trees for shade. I had asked if there were any cancellations and she said no and for the heck of it I asked how much a full hook up site is. $117 a night! What???? This isn't even a high end resort! It's a campground for heaven's sake! We're parked in dirt!
We were going to stay here for four days, our plans have since changed. We'll see both parks tomorrow and head out the next day for the next part of our adventure.
So money spent today was $72 for out parking space for two nights and we filled up the gas tank twice for another $117.60. We had to do a beer/Pepsi run and a few other essentials for a total of $52.31. It was also laundry day to the tune of $9.25. This was our most expensive day so far.
Get ready for picture overload tomorrow!
