We all make mistakes. We made one today. We stopped to see New Orleans. Mistake. Big mistake. HUGE!
We lasted less than an hour on Bourbon Street. What a filthy, disgusting, smelly place this is. That said, I just love the wrought iron balconies.
It was also hot and humid which didn't help anything, that's for sure.
We did stop into this one bar because it was air conditioned. I didn't realize this was so close and when I looked up it scared the heck out of me!
We did get to see one small jazz band parade.
New Orleans. Bourbon Street. Disappointing to say the least. As stated earlier, this city is filthy. Bourbon Street, particularly, reeked. It didn't take Walt long at all to say he had seen and had enough. I totally agreed!
Luckily the campground we found to stay in was only 5 miles outside of the city. Its called Three Oaks and a Pine Campground. What we like the most about it is that it is gated. Every which way we turned, everyone we talked with warned us about pickpockets and thieves. I like being behind this gate!
Walt added a state to our map! Today, Louisiana was added.
Tomorrow we get to move 45 minutes down the road to Mississippi to see friends of ours. We are both looking forward to this!
