TUESDAY 10.15.19 NEW HAMPSHIRE TO NEW YORK

We had a decision to make. Stay and enjoy hunting down the waterfalls and covered bridges or move on because the nights are getting colder here. Snow is not impossible at this point and that is one thing we don't want to deal with.

At only 37 miles wide where we crossed Vermont is a state that we weren't going to get to spend the night in so we stopped to have breakfast and now considered the state visited for our States Visited Map.

So into New York we went. It was a beautiful drive and New York's foliage isn't as far as long as New Hampshire's but it was still a joy to see all the same.

We arrived at our campground in the late afternoon and our first impression was, "Oh my, what did we get into?" Not a well kept place, that's for sure but so many campgrounds and resorts closed on the 14th that we take what we can get.

One of the residents told us where to find a spot and that the manager would be around when he got up from his nap, It was an electric and water only site. The manager did come over after awhile to make sure we were settled in. After we got all set up I walked over to pay for the night and offered my credit card. He said, "only the owner can use the credit card machine and he's gone for the day. Do you have cash? We didn't. We hadn't been to a store in a couple of days to get any cash back. I asked if he knew where another campground was that was open. He said, "Don't worry about it". WOW! Thank you! We love free nights! This is our second this trip.

We've noticed that New York now has Text Stops. The signs were added to the top of the rest area signs. Some say, It can wait. Text stop ahead. A sign of the times.
